A Mountain of Elvis in Nagoya Japan

What an interesting week as our fearless leader Mr. Justin Ginther surprised us all with the latest purchase. What was it? By the title to this blog I am sure you are aware that is has something to do with Elvis. We spent the better half of one day loading Elvis’ into the warehouse. What did he find out there in the Japanese auction circuit? He found a lot of never released Elvis decanters with music box as a base.

The ceramics are of high quality which truly shows the Japanese skills in manufacturing, You could store your whiskey but may choose to use it as a piece of Vintage Americana (Made exclusively in Japan) art! These retail for US $40 – $90. We have enough stock to send in a container or combine with other purchases.

Please have a look at some of the photos below.
As packaged.

Are you lonesome tonight...

A New Beginning in Japanese Kakejiku Scrolls

It is an interesting life I lead
…living and working in Japan for the past 12 years, I have been on a personal mission to improve my life and build my own business. It has just become even more interesting.

My name is Colin Walker and I am now a member of the Iconic Japan team.

While I have been planning and executing my own passion to bring Japan’s best hand crafted goods to the world for some time now, it has now become about Japanese Antiques, actually Kakejiku or Japanese painted scrolls to be exact. Working with Mr. Justin Ginther and Mr. Miles from Iconic Japan…. I have embarked on what may become a new calling and this could become bigger than anyone imagined. Mr. Ginther is an absolute pro at finding and sourcing the best antiques in Japan and with kakejiku / scrolls this is no different. I have been with him to one of the many local auctions in which he attends and we began to find some amazing art to share with the world. The below are some shots of myself in action as I take the original product and categorize, lightly clean and prepare it for online sales.

The following is one of our more premium scrolls and all the important photos that go into cataloguing.

This new future takes me into the past of Japan, something I have always had an interest in but now I have a vested interest in learning more about the various art forms and styles of the last four time periods in Japan.

This I am sure will be a very interesting venture. You can see other fine Japanese antiques here or email Justin to learn more…
